A project from the heart
Velvet Ears.
«It all began in our home. A puppy, some children, and that feeling that the Cocker was born to be by the side of those who most need to be loved.»

Where this project comes from
Sweetness is not a detail.
Velvet Ears is born from a simple conviction: anyone who lives every day next to an English Cocker Spaniel knows the particular quality of his presence — the desire to stay close, the sensitivity, and the way he can be joyful and reassuring at the same time.
From here came the idea of putting this quality at the service of something larger, turning the kennel's careful selection into a concrete gesture of support for the community of Cat Eye Syndrome International.
The project
What Velvet Ears means
We put our experience, our attention to character and our care in choosing families at the service of Cat Eye Syndrome International
and the families who are part of it.
Listening
The Cocker's ears are made for listening. This is the most precious gift a dog can offer to a fragile child: a presence that does not judge, does not interrupt, does not ask for explanations.
Gentleness
Velvet like the skin of the youngest, like the awareness that grows in families. We believe in gentle gestures, in long timeframes, in relationships built day after day.
Community
Supporting Cat Eye Syndrome International means embracing the families who live every day with this rare genetic condition. No one should feel alone in front of a rare diagnosis.
How it works
A puppy,
a donation, a real impact
The heart of the project
Turning a private gesture into a wider good.

«To walk alongside. It's the first gesture a Cocker teaches.»
When the donation goes further
Giving more to make more possible
Velvet Ears also allows for donations larger than the puppy's value. These additional donations let the project expand its reach and build, over time, something even more meaningful.
supporting the association's mission more strongly
contributing to the training of operators who can become handlers and dog conductors in Pet Therapy programmes
making possible, in the future, an initial preparation of the puppy before its arrival in the family
creating the conditions, when possible, to place some puppies free of charge with families with children who have a real need

How donations are used
A project that supports the present and builds the future

Support to the association
To strengthen an international community that helps families not feel alone in front of a rare diagnosis.
Training of specialised operators
To contribute to the costs of training association operators, so they can become handlers and conductors of dogs in Pet Therapy programmes.
Preparation of the puppy before joining the family
To make possible, progressively, a more focused accompaniment of the puppy even before its arrival home.
Solidarity fund for future free placements
To create, when conditions allow, the possibility of placing some puppies free of charge with families with children who can truly benefit from their presence.
Why the Cocker
A sweetness that deserves to be cherished

Renault Kennels was born from precise attention to the English Cocker Spaniel: not just for its beauty and breed type, but for what this breed can express when carefully selected.
Sweetness, sensitivity, balance, the desire for contact and the ability to bond deeply with people are part of why this project exists. Velvet Ears is the point at which this vision opens up and becomes shared.
The bond with the association
A collaboration
that gives meaning to this project
and to our life.
Cat Eye Syndrome International is the international association created to support families living with Cat Eye Syndrome, the rare condition my child lives with. Its work builds a network, guidance, information, listening and closeness.
Velvet Ears is born in dialogue with this community and supports its mission through what Renault Kennels knows and cherishes best: the careful selection of puppies with a sweet, balanced character, deeply attuned to relationship.
Concrete gestures
What makes this project different
01
Placement becomes support
The puppy is placed through a donation to the association equal in value to the puppy.
02
Higher donations create more possibilities
Those who wish can choose to donate more, contributing to a wider and lasting impact.
03
Supporting the training of future handlers
Part of the project's vision concerns the training of specialised operators of the association.
04
A solidarity fund is built
Additional donations can help make possible future free placements with families with children who genuinely need them.
05
Preparing the future, not just the present
The project also looks at the possibility of accompanying the puppy with an initial preparation before joining the family.
06
A private gesture that becomes common good
Choosing to buy a puppy can give rise to guilt when so many dogs wait in shelters. But with Velvet Ears, this gesture becomes concrete help for a community.

«Velvet ears ask for nothing.
They are simply there.
And that is everything.»
